Celestia’s Matcha Upgrade Introduces 128MB Blocks and Cuts Inflation
Celestia has rolled out its v6 Matcha upgrade, now live on the Arabica testnet and slated for Mainnet deployment. The upgrade marks a pivotal advancement in the blockchain's scalability ambitions, featuring 128MB blocks enabled by a high-throughput propagation mechanism. This leap aligns with Celestia's roadmap targeting 1 GB/s data throughput.
Economic adjustments accompany the technical upgrades: TIA token inflation drops from 5% to 2.5%, tightening monetary policy to bolster its DeFi collateral utility. The network also removes token filters for IBC and Hyperlane interoperability, signaling preparations for a future transition to Proof-of-Governance.
